crochet bobble backpack – the rainbow bobble bag is happy, fun, textured, stripey, and a free crochet pattern on moogly! featuring patons hempster, this every day tote is best for displaying off your love of crochet this summer!.
It’s been a whilst seeing that i made a bobble challenge – it’s how moogly acquired its start, really! and now bobbles are trending again, and it was a real joy to revisit this sew – and discern out how to work it in the round!.
These bobbles are virtually shown off fantastically with patons hempster! this yarn is a hemp and cotton blend, and the colours are gorgeous. And the stitch definition is incredible! it does stretch a little bit, so i’ve stored the handles short to account for that.
And you can line it if preferred too!. 500 yds patons hempster (#3 dk/light/uk 8 ply; 55% hemp, 45% cotton; 100g/3. 5 oz; 174 m/190 yds). If you pick to avoid the fhdc st, you can ch 47, bypass the ch closest to the hook, and hdc in each rem ch across.
Then continue with row two. Beginning with rnd 17, the sample is worked in joined rows or turned rounds. Join with a sl st as for a rnd, but turn and work from the different side of the bag for the next rnd.
Bobbles for this pattern are worked as a dc5tog in the equal st – (yo and insert hook in the indicated st, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull thru two loops) 5 times, yo and pull thru all 6 loops on hook to finish the st.
See the linked tutorial above for a demonstration. Rnd 17 (rs): ch 1, hdc in each st across, flip 90 degrees, hdc 16 evenly along sides of rows, turn 90 degrees, hdc in each basis ch, flip 90 degrees, hdc 16 evenly along facets of rows, turn 90 degrees, be part of with sl st in first hdc of rnd; turn.
(124 sts). Rnd 20: ch 1, sc in the first st, *bobble in next st, sc in the next 3 sts; rep from * around finishing last rep with sc in the last 2 sts, be a part of and turn.
